Dr. Laura Riegel
I spent most of my childhood on the back of a horse on the East Coast. Between a childhood in Georgia, high school in Maryland, and undergrad in New Hampshire I have seen most of what it has to offer. During those years I became an avid horsewoman, competing my ex-racehorse “Bubba” in three-day events.
It was an injury of his during my college years that led me to veterinary medicine. I completed my degree at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) in 2012. Upon graduation my now husband Aaron, our dog, 5 cats, and 2 horses moved to the top of Shadow Mountain in Conifer. I completed a yearlong internship at a mixed animal practice and stayed on for another five years, eventually focusing more on small animal medicine.
After the birth of our son in 2018, I decided to make the switch to an exclusively small animal clinic in Littleton in an effort to ease the time burden of on-call work. I am so pleased to be back working in my own mountain community.
