Dr. David DiMeo
Veterinarian
Dr. David DiMeo graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and has been caring for pets ever since. He worked for other veterinarians before offering in-home care. In 1990 he decided to open a hospital with his wife, Dr. Julie Pelto in Rhode Island.
The new hospital became a pet care leader offering many advanced procedures such as ultrasonography, digital radiography, dental radiography minimally invasive surgery and in-house laboratory services.
Dr. DiMeo was a member of the RI State Board of Veterinary Medicine for 9 years, a delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association for 8 years and president of the RI and New England Veterinary Medical Associations. Dr. DiMeo is also a member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Ultrasound Society. He stays current by frequent attendance at local and national scientific meetings.
In 2010 Drs. DiMeo and Pelto decided it was time for change and sold their practice. After two years with the new owner Dr. DiMeo went on to Purdue University to obtain advanced training in veterinary imaging. After a year at Purdue the entire family moved to Colorado.
The DiMeo family includes 3 human girls and 2 human boys ranging in age from 18 to 31, two Golden Retrievers, a Belgian Tervuren, 3 cats, a Severe Macaw and an assortment of more exotic pets. The DiMeo’s are avid skiers and enjoy many sporting and cultural activities.
