Below you can learn a little bit about the amazing team that will be working with you and your furry family member.

Dr. David DiMeo

Veterinarian

Dr. David DiMeo graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and has been caring for pets ever since. He worked for other veterinarians before offering in-home care. In 1990 he decided to open a hospital with his wife, Dr. Julie Pelto in Rhode Island.

The new hospital became a pet care leader offering many advanced procedures such as ultrasonography, digital radiography, dental radiography minimally invasive surgery and in-house laboratory services.

Dr. DiMeo was a member of the RI State Board of Veterinary Medicine for 9 years, a delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association for 8 years and president of the RI and New England Veterinary Medical Associations. Dr. DiMeo is also a member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Ultrasound Society. He stays current by frequent attendance at local and national scientific meetings.

In 2010 Drs. DiMeo and Pelto decided it was time for change and sold their practice. After two years with the new owner Dr. DiMeo went on to Purdue University to obtain advanced training in veterinary imaging. After a year at Purdue the entire family moved to Colorado.

The DiMeo family includes 3 human girls and 2 human boys ranging in age from 18 to 31, two Golden Retrievers, a Belgian Tervuren, 3 cats, a Severe Macaw and an assortment of more exotic pets. The DiMeo’s are avid skiers and enjoy many sporting and cultural activities.

Lydia

Lydia loves animals and people – and it’s obvious when she is at work! She has lived in the Conifer area for over a decade, after growing up in Ohio where she attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Animal Science. She is married, has 3 children, lots of grandchildren, 2 cats, 2 English Setters and an AQHA Gelding. She really enjoys living in Colorado: Riding her horse, hiking with her dogs, reading, gardening, making jewelry and cards or just relaxing with her husband.

Sierra

Sierra has belonged to the Evergreen/Conifer community since she was three years old. She went to Conifer High School and has always been passionate about animals. Sierra had previously worked at a veterinary clinic/boarding facility in Manchester, Connecticut. She loves being outdoors! Hiking, four-wheeling or inner-tubing are her favorite things to do. Her beagle Nevaeh is always accompanying her on her outdoor festivities.

Tammy

Tammy grew up in Illinois but has called Colorado home since 2001. She has worked as an Assistant Veterinary Technician for over 30 years and has wanted to work in this amazing field since she was about 12 years old. Tammy currently cares for her 3 dogs and a cat at her home. When she is not taking care of your pet here at Mountain Parks Veterinary Hospital, she loves to enjoy outdoor activities: she loves to fish! Tammy also loves to explore her artistic talents with acrylics and ceramics.

In Memorium
Paula

On July 12, 2020, the Mountain Parks Veterinary Hospital family suffered a devastating tragedy. Our lead technician and friend, Paula, died in an automobile accident. Paula was a caring, loving person and an absolute joy to be around. She was a shining star whose light was extinguished too soon. Her absence is deeply felt. She may be gone but she lives in our hearts and minds. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
