Below you can learn a little bit about the amazing team that will be working with you and your furry family member.

Dr. David DiMeo

Veterinarian

Dr. David DiMeo graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and has been caring for pets ever since. He worked for other veterinarians before offering in-home care. In 1990 he decided to open a hospital with his wife, Dr. Julie Pelto in Rhode Island.

The new hospital became a pet care leader offering many advanced procedures such as ultrasonography, digital radiography, dental radiography minimally invasive surgery and in-house laboratory services.

Dr. DiMeo was a member of the RI State Board of Veterinary Medicine for 9 years, a delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association for 8 years and president of the RI and New England Veterinary Medical Associations. Dr. DiMeo is also a member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Ultrasound Society. He stays current by frequent attendance at local and national scientific meetings.

In 2010 Drs. DiMeo and Pelto decided it was time for change and sold their practice. After two years with the new owner Dr. DiMeo went on to Purdue University to obtain advanced training in veterinary imaging. After a year at Purdue the entire family moved to Colorado.

The DiMeo family includes 3 human girls and 2 human boys ranging in age from 18 to 31, two Golden Retrievers, a Belgian Tervuren, 3 cats, a Severe Macaw and an assortment of more exotic pets. The DiMeo’s are avid skiers and enjoy many sporting and cultural activities.

Lydia

Lydia loves animals and people – and it’s obvious when she is at work! She has lived in the Conifer area for over a decade, after growing up in Ohio where she attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Animal Science. She is married, has 3 children, lots of grandchildren, 2 cats, 2 English Setters and an AQHA Gelding. She really enjoys living in Colorado: Riding her horse, hiking with her dogs, reading, gardening, making jewelry and cards or just relaxing with her husband.

Bryan

Bryan grew up in Oklahoma and lived there his entire life until 2011 when he moved to Colorado. He attributes his love of animals to his father who taught him to love and respect with wonder all things living.  While Bryan graduated cum /aude with a Bachelors degree in Business/Administration from St. Gregory’s University, he has worked as an Assistant Veterinary Technician for many years, and for the Tulsa Opera as their Company Manager (but is not a singer, he reports!).  When not working or caring for his many pets (currently 2 dogs, a cat, and fish share his home). Bryan enjoys biking, hiking, walking, reading (he loves classic horror and science fiction), watching movies, listening to music, and hanging out with his neighbors.  You will hear Bryan answering phones here at Mountain Parks Veterinary Hospital (he is the one with the Oklahoma “twang”!) and he is also one of our Assistant Veterinary Technicians.

Jaden

Jaden is currently attending Johnson and Wales University. She spent most of her childhood in Rhode Island and moved to Colorado in the summer of 2013. When Jaden is not working, she is either running, hanging out with friends, playing softball, or listening to music. Due to her parents being veterinarians, her house has quite the variety of animals ranging from tropical birds to your common household pets such as dogs and cats. Jaden’s work experience related to her position is a steady job of 3 years walking and caring for dogs and cats around her neighborhood.

Mali

Mali is currently a sophomore at Northeastern University and is thrilled to be working at Mountain Parks Adventure Camp + Pet Lodge! Mali grew up in Rhode Island with her family of 7, before moving to Colorado in the summer of 2013. Her family has always housed a variety of animals from parrots to snakes to cats and dogs. When not working, Mali often can be found with her nose buried in a book, sketching, playing softball, hanging out with friends or napping.

Sierra

Sierra has belonged to the Evergreen/Conifer community since she was three years old. She went to Conifer High School and has always been passionate about animals. Sierra had previously worked at a veterinary clinic/boarding facility in Manchester, Connecticut. She loves being outdoors! Hiking, four-wheeling or inner-tubing are her favorite things to do. Her beagle Nevaeh is always accompanying her on her outdoor festivities.

Paula

On July 12, 2020, the Mountain Parks Veterinary Hospital family suffered a devastating tragedy. Our lead technician and friend, Paula, died in an automobile accident. Paula was a caring, loving person and an absolute joy to be around. She was a shining star whose light was extinguished too soon. Her absence is deeply felt. She may be gone but she lives in our hearts and minds. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
